I am going to date myself. I have no problems with that. My dad never had a problem with his age, nor do I.
So, I am going to date myself. This summer will be my 30th high school reunion. A lot has happened in 30 years. A lot of what happened in high school was instrumental in shaping who and what I have become in that next 30 years.
So, as I contemplate my journey to the reunion this summer, I thought a longer journey, through time, looking back over those years, might be something of interest and worthwhile contemplation — or at least have entertainment value.
I attended Twin Tiers Baptist High School, a private school 18.3 miles from my home. TTBHS was an offshoot of Horseheads Christian School. HCS began as a K-6 grade ministry of Horseheads First Baptist Church, adding another grade each year, until the year when the 12th grade was to be added. At that time they reached out to 6 other Baptist churches in the area to join with them. They bought the old Breesport Elementary School building, and created Twin Tiers Baptist High School, a 7-12 grade junior-senior high school.
My parents put my siblings and I into HCS when I was in 3rd grade. But for this series, I think I will start my reflective journey earlier, perhaps at the kindergarten level.
I went through a photo album I put together of pictures I had taken or been given to me during those years. Curious the number of school photos I had in the album, and the changes throughout the years. So see below – for the entertainment value.

One other thing I have learned about retrospectives, is the easy tendency to only catch your own perspective, and to have others remember events differently. So I encourage those who know or remember the events I discuss to share from their perspectives, and correct me as necessary.
