Today’s blog is quite late. But I’m going to make it the first of a short series of photo and reflective essays. This first one is a retrospective look back.
The pictures in this column are of the Breesport School building. Back in the fall of 1976 it became the building for a new school — Twin Tiers Baptist High School. The building was old even then, having served as an elementary school for the Horseheads School District for many years. So this building has been in service from its public school days, and then almost 38 years of private school service under the Twin Tiers banner, before the now Twin Tiers Christian Academy moved to its new building in January 2014.
As a member of the class of 1984, which celebrated its 30th year reunion today, I have fond memories of this building, and the people who attended and taught here. The ability of the founders of Twin Tiers to get this building, and the accompanying sports field was one of many miracles and blessings that have followed the school throughout the years. As an alumnus I find it sad that my school building will no longer be a school building – but find it more important that the school itself continues to grow and prosper and raise young people with a heart of Christian service and mission.
So the next parts of this series will cover the reunion, and some of those current and forward reflections. But for now, a look at the remembered past:
