Today’s post is coverage of another fund-raiser for the scouting troops that call Avondale United Methodist Church their sponsor. To raise funds for camp and other activities, they presented a Spaghetti dinner today at the church, Apparently Jan. 4 is listed on some calendars as spaghetti Sunday, though I am not sure that is why the troop chose the particular date for their fundraiser.
The meal was well done and pleasantly laid out. Simple yet satisfying. Spaghetti, sauce, meatballs, salad, dessert and beverage.
A nice crowd showed up, but as with all fund-raisers, you hope to be able to see even more people. The weather was cold and slightly slick, with the light snowfall we had last night — one wonders if even more people would have showed up if the weather had been clear.
