We finally tried the nachos at the Battle Creek BBQ. They don’t come with a side — because they include a side. They start with the usual chips covered with cheese, but then add a layer of shredded meat — they were out of chicken so we chose the pork option — and then a layer of baked beans and barbeque sauce.

Both Nathan and I ordered the nachos. We really only needed one order between the two of us. Maybe if we hadn’t gone out for breakfast we could have eaten the whole thing — maybe.
But it certainly meant we were ready for the light supper at Auntie Anne’s that night.

We only did dinner, because it as heavy rain, thunder and lightning, around noon, and Betsy didn’t want to spend mother’s day tramping through the rain. So we took a nap and went over about 5:30 p.m. for supper instead.
With the rain holding down the crowds we tried to get into Coasters, and did it without having to wait in line — a real rarity for Coasters.

On Monday my work schedule didn’t let me get off in time to go, so the rest of the family went over to the park before it closed. They had pizza at the Pizza Pier. The registers weren’t taking the plans, but the attendants served them up anyway and worried about the technical issues later.
With the parks open short days at first, from 9 or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., there isn’t really time around a work schedule to hit it twice in a day for meals. Once it gets open later in the day, and once the kids are off school for the summer, we’ll probably be trying to double meal during the weekdays whenever possible.
