(Continuing posts on a visit to the Kansas City Zoo).
One of the popular shows, and also one of the closest to the main gate, is the Sea Lion Show.
Because we had watched the bird show at 10 a.m., we had missed the morning Penguin feedings, but we had time to get to the 10:30 a.m. sea lion show as it was getting ready to begin.
There is a raised seating area on one side of the pavilion, and then ground-level seating and bleachers around the rest. By the time we got there, all the shaded seats were taken except on what was the far side for us. So we went over there to sit.
There is a “rock” island promotory in the off-center of the pool, and we didn’t realize that by sitting behind it where we did, that we would miss a good half of the stunts being done by the sea lions. We had never sat there during the show before. However, it was still enjoyable.
They did it in the form of a Sea Lion olypmics, but everyone who did a stunt on all sides got a 10, so both Sea Lions won the gold medal. cheesy.
