A Blast of the Past #28: Penguin Park at Night

One of the fun places in Kansas City North is Penguin Park. We spent quite a few fun hours over the years. Actually it is amazing that we didn’t spend more. It is easy to not make the time to run to the park.

But on the occasion in these pictures, apparently we did. This was while we were still living in Kearney, so I’m not sure why we would have been down around the park at night, in the dark. But we were. And we weren’t  quite alone, either.

  1. I took two of my grandkids to a park on Tuesday night and after dropping them off to their parents, I was checking my email and saw your blog about Penguin Park from earlier that day.

Ironically, we didn’t end up going there because I thought it would be dark by the time I got there; instead, I took them over to Oak Grove Park (by Oak Park High School) but your blog makes me think that I could’ve visited the “bird in the tuxedo” as I called the other park when speaking to my son within earshot of young ones.
