Hypocrisy, Thy name is Avondale United Methodist Church

Rev. Peak,

I went to the church expecting to find a pastor: I found a coward.

I went to the church expecting to find someone who welcomed the children like Christ did, with no six foot barrier: I found someone who had to stand behind the fire marshal.

I went to the church expecting to find someone who spoke directly words of welcome like Christ did. I found someone who spoke mealy mouthed and wouldn’t commit to one single thing.

I expect to find out that your tacit agreement to my e-mail, upon which I came down to the church, an understanding you agreed to in person today that it was legitimate for me to make, you will have no knowledge of making, despite the three other witnesses there who will also be unable to remember this, though I emphasized it THREE times to everyone.

You have already lied to me in your e-mail. The letter gives you the right to allow me on the property to discuss the transfer of the information. You, like Pastor Dunlap, are using delay on your side and negligence in fulfilling your duty to keep me away.

Very well.

Before the time comes for me to vote, I expect to have something from your lawyers giving me access to my voting place. You will not violate the Civil Rights Act or the Voting Rights Act again.

I had expressed hope that you could heal the wounds of AUMC. I know now that I was in error. You are one more placeholder who won’t get down in the trenches.

And if you do live up to your word, I will be surprised, but I will not do what you did to me. I will walk into your lions’ den, unafraid. I won’t stand behind others as the coward.

You have proven your hypocrisy, and that of Avondale United Methodist Church today.

(I have been trying to reach out to AUMC for reconciliation, as the injured party, and keep getting treated like I am the offender. These people have NO CLUE.)
