We have been betrayed by church after church, and finally wonder if we dare say anything at the latest refuge we have found, or if doing so will make it another place of betrayal. I cannot believe it of these people, and yet irrational fear casts its shadow over my contemplations. For even if the fear is irrational, it does not mean the fear is not valid.
All they cared about was their own comfort. They let a young girl, scarcely more than a child, insult another person with impunity, and when that other person objected to this, told that other person to keep their mouth shut. No self defense allowed around here, it upset the status quo.
And so we wait to see if yet another church decides to throw us to the curbside.
