The Church as a business and organization has GOT to stop.
Someone should not come to church and ask for help with a spiritual matter, and find that the church staff or members first consider its purported impact on the church itself, and promise to help the suppliant with their issue, but only respond with something that “protects” the church and doesn’t help the suppliant, even blackballs the one in need, and pretend they have shown the love of Christ.
The church is hiding behind lawyers, timid and afraid. Also brash and dictatorial. And they wonder why no one is coming to their doors.
Of course, we are supposed to be going out to reach them, not waiting for them to come in. But they aren’t very anxious to come in, when we are already driving our own out.
And not because we aren’t’ “inclusive enough”. These “All are Welcome” and “Everyone is Welcome” signs are big red warning signs to most people not to get close to whatever crazies gather there.
Who fleeing the pressures of the world would intentionally seek the insane asylum?
