As the picture shows, we have a eclectic collections of plants in the greenhouse.
While far from full, the greenhouse has a sense of crowding, as one growing plant gets close to or invades the space of another, and has to be tamed or trained to stay within its spot.
I got the greenhouse two springs ago on a whim, and the feeling of an excellent price for all that area. I had no greenhouse experience, and have rearranged the insides many times, and moved the greenhouse once from its original location. I am trying to find what the greenhouse is good for, or what I am good at doing with a greenhouse, some niche that will meet a need others aren’t meeting, and hopefully eventually make some money, feed the family, etc.
The first winter was a cold one, and I learned a lot about how to keep the greenhouse warm without popping every circuit breaker in the house or busting the budget. Winter Number Two is upon us, and I am trying to adapt that information to the new greenhouse layout and our meager resources.
Anyway, expect many upcoming blogs commenting on growing things — from At The Rainbow — during all fours seasons, since the greenhouse means we should always be growing things.
