Lights are Back on Open House – Recap

I meant to blog (advertise) our open house on the site more beforehand, but as usual, the day-to-day getting ready and keeping things going left me cutting blogging time short for other things (really have to change that habit!)

So the open house, Sunday, is already come and gone. We had a good time, even though less than 10 people came by in the 3 hours. It seems to be our fate/MO to be small crowd people. And yet, though less than 10, all were people we dearly needed/wanted to catch up with, and who have had, and are having, an important influence in our rebuild. One idea mentioned by one of them yesterday may speed up our cleanup and reduce manhours majorly.

But there is always a part of me that wants the “simple” solution of the big crowd response and encouragement. But that is like waves on sand. Instead we are given “our daily bread” on a daily basis, and maybe two days worth before he sabbath so we can rest on it, but seldom more. Yet we do find his rest.

And to use one more cliche, I would still welcome a good “silver bullet”.
