For her 17th birthday we took our daughter to Cinzetti’s in Overland Park, KS. It was her first time there.
As every time we come there, they asked us if we have been before. And told them Betsy and I had, but Carly and Nathan hadn’t. So they offered the tour, and Nathan and Carly took it.

It was a first time for Betsy and I too. We came on a Saturday afternoon, at the very end of the Saturday brunch. So we got to experience both brunch and dinner at the same time.
We got the tour of the 14 stations, including, fruits, salads, pastas, pizzas, meats, vegetables. pastries, desserts, ices.
Carly was quite adventurous. She started with a breadstick and Caesar salad (Caesar is her favorite salad), found the fettuccine Alfredo on the pasta bar, and tried several of the different types of chicken offered.
Betsy and I saw cinnamon rolls on the brunch part of the buffet, and picked them up first thing, since the brunch ended in 20 minutes, and we didn’t expect them to be there when we got around to our sweets later. And they weren’t there later — they were moved over to the dessert bar. So we could have gotten them any time we wanted.
But the cinnamon roll bites (sort of like doughnut holes for cinnamon rolls) that I picked up at the same time didn’t get moved to the dessert bar.
They had a small type of cream puff that was really superb. They were small and bite-sized. The first one Nathan put into his mouth whole, and bit down to surprised delight when the cream burst out. The second one he bit in the middle,
intending the cream to flow into his mouth — instead it bust backwards all over his fingers. Not one to let something good go to waste, he licked all the cream off his fingers. But when he picked up the second half, he looked at it a little disgusted, at the betraying pastry, and gave it the finish it deserved.
(I should mention my son has quite good facial expressions — they could go real well with one of his elementary school career choices — to be a stand-up comedian. I think he could be a great actor if he chose to put himself forward for it.)
Nathan’s bill-of-fare centered on all the types of pizza, the sausage, chicken, bacon, and other meats, and didn’t tend toward the salads or vegetables.
Everyone ended the meal at the dessert bar. Everyone had pastries, and everyone but Betsy had ice cream. Nathan had three different servings and flavors of ice cream.
Well, I shouldn’t say everyone ended with dessert. After having her dessert, Carly went back and had some more Caesar salad.

LOOKS LIKE CARLY HAD QUITE A HAPPY AND YUMMY BIRTHDAY!!!
