It wasn’t a scheduled event, but today the parents of our organist came to visit him from Utah, the mother of our music director was also there, along with the parents of his fiance.
David and Colleen Bott, parents of Seth Bott, organist, were there, along with Aaron Redburn’s mom and Shannon Lowe’s parents (If I were a better “journalist” I would have gotten all their names down. Anyone that wants to feel free to fill them in in the comments).
Special music was done by Aaron Redburn and Sandy Keeney. It was a guitar and handbell rendition of Amazing Grace with Aaron singing along with his
That was followed by a resounding choral anthem: Christ Has Won the Victory.
Both songs can be heard on the audio tracks below.
Creational and relational type Renaissance man (writer, singer, thinker) holding to C.S Lewis's credo that if you follow truth originality takes care of itself, (anyway, originality is so yesterday, anyway.) That I have my wonderful wife Jasini is proof enough for me that life isn't fair. If it was fair I wouldn't have her, and instead she is my most faithful example that I am blessed beyond measure. I’m not sure about 2nd service but at the early service (at 8:30) the Call to Prayer was a quartet: Aaron, Shannon, Seth and Brandon. I continue to be amazed by the musical abilities of our congregation including everyone in your household.
We didn’t get to enjoy that quartet at second service. I’d heard about it, and would have enjoyed getting to hear Seth and Brandon sing. Wish I could have heard it.
