A Blast of the past #103: Sword and Shield birthday

This is September 2008, and the year of the sword and shield birthday cake.  It was also the year we got the party guests play wooden swords from the Renaissance Festival as party favors.  They had a lot of fun with those, both at the party, and in years to come.

That I have my wonderful wife Jasini is proof enough for me that life isn't fair. If it was fair I wouldn't have her, and instead she is my most faithful example that I am blessed beyond measure. My two adult children are the same unmerited blessing to me. We should all be thankful life is not fair but blessed.
