Today's post shows pictures of the house repairs from the Octotober storm. Here the contractor is opening up the back wall and removing the section of damaged ceiling -- which gives a good view through the opened ceiling to the full extent of the roof damage. A Blast of the Past #126: Leaf Jumping
Seemed like this used to happen every year ... and then suddenly not.
In Defense of Freedom
This is a very interesting video, discussing the dangers to freedom, and the true exercise of freedom, in a place far removed from the borders of the United States. And yet, in a way, this land, and in example of freedom, owes much to what it learned from the American experience. We might consider it … Continue reading In Defense of Freedom
#251: Almost Perished
(Part of a series singing through the hymnbook I grew up with: Great Hymns of the Faith) 1 “Almost persuaded” now to believe “Almost persuaded” Christ to receive: Seems now some soul to say, “Go Spirit, go Thy way, Some more convenient day On Thee I’ll call.” 2 “Almost persuaded” come, come today; “Almost persuaded” … Continue reading #251: Almost Perished

A Blast of the Past #125: Readers’ Theatre
This was an episode of Reader's Theatre. Pictrues give suggestions, but without labels, they are just interesting guesses.
WinterFest: Lighting the Tree
Last weekend was the first weekend of WinterFest at Worlds of Fun. We weren't able to get out to experience it until Sunday evening, but it was certainly a well-developed event. Several items were still in the process of being set up, but that did not distract from the overall festive impact of the time. … Continue reading WinterFest: Lighting the Tree
